Work with Riviera Home Experts
We refer English-speaking homeowners to vetted contractors across the Côte d'Azur. If you work in heating, cooling, solar, or electrical in departments 06 or 83, here's how it works and what we look for.
Who uses this site?
Riviera Home Experts is used by English-speaking property owners on the Côte d'Azur: expats, second-home owners, people who've recently moved to the region. They're typically looking for contractors who can communicate in English, handle the subsidy paperwork themselves, and deliver to the standard their quote describes.
These are owners who've often had poor experiences navigating the French contractor market without language support. When they find a contractor who operates professionally and speaks enough English to have a proper conversation about the project, they become loyal customers. Many of them own multiple properties or know other expats in the same situation.
What we do with your details
We're a matching and referral service. When a homeowner contacts us with a project in their area, we match them with one or two contractors from our partner pool whose certifications, coverage area, and availability fit the job. We pass the homeowner's details to you; you follow up directly. The contract is between you and the client.
We don't charge the homeowner. We don't take a cut of the job value. We focus on maintaining a small, well-vetted pool of contractors rather than listing everyone who applies.
What we look for in a partner contractor
We're selective because the homeowners we work with trust our referrals. To be considered:
- Garantie décennale: current 10-year liability insurance, verifiable on request. This is non-negotiable for any installation work.
- Relevant certification for the work type: RGE (QualiPAC for heat pumps, QualiPV for solar, or equivalent) for energy renovation work that homeowners may claim subsidies on. IRVE certification for EV charger installations. Qualibat or equivalent for general electrical work.
- English communication: not perfect, but functional. Enough to take a clear brief, write a legible devis, and explain options without needing an interpreter for every call.
- Written devis as standard: every job gets a proper written quote before any work begins. No exceptions.
- Responsive follow-up: homeowners on this site tend to be well-researched and ready to move. If you take three weeks to respond to an introduction, it doesn't work for either party.
- Coverage area: primarily departments 06 (Alpes-Maritimes) and 83 (Var), with focus on the strip from Menton to Cannes and inland to Grasse and Valbonne. If you only cover part of this area, tell us, we'd rather refer correctly than waste your time.
What we don't do
We don't manage your schedule or act as your office. We don't guarantee volume: some months you'll hear from us often, others not at all, depending on demand and what's on the site. We're not a leads platform that charges per referral and floods your inbox with tyre-kickers. The homeowners we refer tend to have done their research, have a realistic sense of budget, and are ready to have a proper conversation.
We also won't refer you for work outside your certifications. If you hold RGE for heat pumps but not for solar, we'll only refer you for heat pump projects.
